Just Transition & Climate Change Project – Phase 1

The Just Transition and Climate Change Project, implemented by the EFP in collaboration with the International Labour Organization, aligns with Pakistan’s National SME Policy, supports compliance with emerging due diligence requirements, and contributes to Pakistan’s GSP+ commitments by promoting the formalization of supply chains and climate change mitigation.

The project supports small and medium-sized enterprises, to apply just transition principles in their operations, strengthen respect for labour and environmental standards, and build the capacity needed to move towards greener production systems, ensuring that climate action is accompanied by decent work, social inclusion, and sustainable enterprise development.

Just Transition Help Desk

The Just Transition Help Desk at the secretariat of the Employers Federation of Pakistan, established in collaboration with the International Labour Organization, serves as a dedicated support platform to assist enterprises and particularly SMEs in transitioning toward environmentally sustainable and socially responsible business practices.

The Help Desk provides technical guidance on integrating Just Transition principles into business operations, advisory support on formalization and compliance with labour and environmental standards, and capacity-building assistance to help enterprises adapt to greener production systems.

It also offers practical tools and contextual support to advance climate mitigation efforts while safeguarding jobs and promoting decent work. Through these services, the Help Desk enables businesses to reduce their environmental footprint, strengthen sustainability performance, and ensure that the shift toward a green economy is inclusive, responsible, and economically viable.
